Our Investment Approach

Leading the way as an impact investor

In line with our mission, we invest our endowment responsibly and sustainably. Our investment strategy combines ESG integration across the entire portfolio with selected impact investments that seek to generate positive social and environmental outcomes alongside financial returns. Through this approach, we aim to support innovation, sustainable development, and long-term value creation while ensuring the prudent management of the Foundation's assets. 

Our Donor

BMW AG

BMW AG is the founding donor of the BMW Foundation Herbert Quandt. The Foundation finances its charitable activities through the returns generated by its endowment and through support provided by BMW AG. This funding enables the Foundation to pursue its mission independently and in accordance with its charitable purpose. Further information about BMW AG can be found on the BMW Group website. 

Financial Stewardship

The Foundation uses its resources exclusively to advance its charitable mission and support initiatives and partnerships that contribute to addressing societal challenges, fostering innovation, and creating positive long-term impact. Through its work, the Foundation promotes innovation, cross-sector collaboration, and long-term solutions that strengthen both society and the economy. The Foundation's annual financial statements are audited by an independent external auditing firm.
